Father Daughter Bollywood Dance

On November 14, 2009 some of our Daisys attended the Father Daughter Bollywood Dance. This is one of the biggest Girl Scout events of the year and is run solely by the older Girl Scouts. Our Daisys (and Dads!) all wore their finest Indian apparel, and our special sari theme was SPARKLY...the more sequins the better!!

Looking fabulous in their sparkly saris!

And the Dads looked pretty wicked too!

Practicing some moves.

Preparing to hit the dance floor, Daisy style!

Our girls take their place on the dance floor with the rest of troops from Singapore. A good time was had by all!

Investiture Ceremony

On November 4, 2009, after making some wonderful paper flowers in preparation for the upcoming Father Daughter dance, we had our investiture ceremony. Each Daisy selected one girl scout law to read out, the definition of which was read out by a family member. After a few songs each Daisy was presented with her two pins, a select few badges, her certificate and a posy of flowers. A good time was had by all.

A few of the flowers we made for the Father Daughter Dance.

Songfest and Opening Ceremony

On October 3, 2009 Daisys, Brownies and Girl Scouts from across Singapore met at the Singapore American School to celebrate this year's opening ceremony and to have a bit of a singalong. This provided our Daisys with a great opportunity to learn a few of the songs we will no doubt all be singing in the very near future. Particular favourites were Bazooka Zooka Bubble Gum and the Boy Scout Song.
