World Thinking Day

On Saturday February 20, 2010, World Thinking Day was held at the Singapore American School. This is another popular event where Girl Scouts from all over the world participate in activities, games and projects with global themes to honour their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries.

The theme for this years World Thinking Day 2010 was "together we can end extreme poverty and hunger". World Thinking Day is based on the UN Millennium Development Goals which aim to improve the lives of the world's poorest people.

Girls worldwide voted and chose Germany, Kuwait, Peru, the Philippines and South Africa to represent the five regions of World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, Europe, the Arab Region, Western Hemisphere, Asia/Pacific and Africa.

World Thinking Day provides the girls with a chance to celebrate international friendships while also being a reminder that Girl Scouts are part of a global community - one of nearly 150 countries with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Our troop worked in shifts to man their own booth. We included an art display while also concentrating on languages in South Africa of other Girl Scouts.
